PF I am both drawn to the simplicity in nature and also value complex systems of technology and architecture. I think these two facets of my personality are showcased in my collection. My diverse collection highlights these sides of my personality, and my own unique story. I travelled around the world as a young man, and was fascinated by the historical pieces and history of each country I visited. I could never say that I was drawn to one country, era or type of historical piece or current technology. I was simply drawn to pieces that made me think and or elicited an emotional response.
I have always had an interest in valuable pieces, from Art Deco to ancient natural artifacts and I guess I collect because on some level I have a deep interest in the world at large – the history of each country and really I guess what made the country and its people ‘tick’ from a historical perspective. For example, art deco pieces and artwork are just so unique, that particular era is fascinating to me because the pieces are so structured and beautiful. Ultimately, I collect because I have a fascination for culture and people, what moved people then and what moves people now. A collection is a statement about what moves you as an individual – history moves me and pieces of history move me. I believe this is due to my unique travel experiences as a young man. I have an aesthetic ideal, and like to be surrounded by the unique and beautiful pieces of history that I have discovered in my journey of life thus far.
My collection consists of: an entire condo dedictated to Art Deco, including over 300 various sets and pieces ranging from clocks, vanity, picture frames and other decor etc. from 1920's and 30's in permanent residence; Over 100 vases and decorative eggs from all over the world; Fine and bone china; Decorative Plates; Various rocks and minerals; Various antiques and artifacts; Various sculptures; Over 100 original works of art; and Antique furniture.
